What hidden characters does Claude text contain?
Text copied out of AI chat apps often carries characters you cannot see: zero-width spaces, word joiners, non-breaking spaces, soft hyphens, and directional marks. Some arrive through the web clipboard, some through markdown rendering, and some are inserted deliberately. They survive paste into editors, emails, and CMSs, and they are exactly what detection scripts scan for.
Does Anthropic watermark Claude output?
Anthropic has not announced text watermarking in Claude. The artifacts people find in pasted Claude text are clipboard and renderer side effects — the same class of characters every rich text editor fights with. This page removes them either way.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The cleaner runs entirely in your browser — nothing you paste ever leaves the page. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
Is cleaning these characters allowed?
Removing formatting artifacts from your own text is normal editing — the same thing a plain-text paste does. What matters is honesty about authorship where it is required: school and workplace policies on AI assistance still apply to the words themselves, not the invisible bytes around them.
