The interface is a chat window with a model selector. It looks similar to ChatGPT or Claude, so there's no learning curve. If you've used any AI chat tool before, you know how to use Admix.

Choosing a Model

When you start a new conversation, you pick a model from the dropdown. The models are organized by provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) and also by category (best for writing, best for coding, fastest, etc.).

If you don't know which model to use, that's fine. The default selection is a strong general-purpose model that handles most tasks well. You can always switch later.

Using AI Models

Once you've selected a model, you type your prompt and get a response. It works exactly like any other AI chat. The responses stream in real-time, you can have multi-turn conversations, and conversations are saved for later reference.

Where Admix differs from single-provider apps is what happens next. If you're not satisfied with the response, or if you're curious how another model would handle the same prompt, you can switch models and retry. The prompt stays the same; only the model changes.

This is genuinely useful in practice. I often draft something with GPT-5 for speed, then send the same prompt to Claude for a more thorough version. Having both outputs lets me pick the better one or combine the best parts of each.

Comparing Models Side by Side

For important tasks, you can send the same prompt to multiple models simultaneously and see the results next to each other. This is the comparison feature, and it's the thing most people find surprisingly valuable once they try it.

What Admix Doesn't Do

It's fair to mention what's not included:

No platform-specific features. ChatGPT has custom GPTs and memory. Claude has Projects and Artifacts. These features don't exist in Admix. If you rely heavily on these platform-specific tools, Admix won't replace them.

No image generation (yet). Admix is focused on text-based AI interactions. If you need DALL-E or Midjourney, you'll need those separately.

No API access. Admix is a consumer product, not a developer platform. If you need API access for building applications, you'll use the providers' APIs directly.
